How valid is NBI®?     top

The NBI® was developed after extensive international research since 1980 on left/right-brain functioning. More than 200,000 adults and children from a number of countries have been profiled through the NBI®. The results of research on the NBI® have been significant, and ongoing research at a number of universities and institutes remains an essential part of whole-brain science.

What makes NBI® different from other instruments that measure thinking preferences and brain dominance?     top

There are several major advantages.

• The NBI® indicates very accurately what your thinking preferences are and the implications of these preferences.
• It explains the areas where you are not dominant. You can then choose to develop the skills and attitudes to perform well in these areas. If you are an L1 person, for instance, you cannot become an R2 person, but in a very simple way you can learn how to act comfortably and spontaneously in other dimensions. As a business person, you can understand how to form teams that can develop whole-brain approaches to problems and challenges.
• It is the largest battery of whole-brain instruments in the world. This means that you can explore whole-brain thinking in your job, skills, leadership and parenting – in virtually everything you do. Also, you do not need to search for support instruments, since the NBI® covers everything. The NBI® also has the eight-dimension option, giving a far more accurate profile than any four-quadrant profile ever can.

Does my profile change over time?     top

This depends on the individual. It is quite possible and perfectly natural for people to change their view of the world as they grow older, particularly if they have changed jobs, partners, countries or personal beliefs.

The latest research suggests that our social environments can influence everything from cardiovascular function to genetic expression, immune activity, disease, personality disorders, trauma, and possibly even genetic constitution.
